Dear Carolina Parents,
Congratulations on your student’s acceptance into Carolina. As parents of a Carolina Greek and serving on the Parents’ Council as Chair of Fraternity and Sorority Life, we encourage your student to explore the wonderful opportunities of joining a Greek organization. UNC offers 59 different Greek organizations. We can personally attest that working, studying and living together results in lifetime friendships. It is worth noting the average GPA for female Greek students is higher than the campus-wide GPA, currently at a 3.368. Through involvement in the Greek community, students also develop communication, management, and leadership skills they will use throughout their lives.
As an organization under the direction of the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Community Involvement is always available for your questions or concerns. Please read more about UNC’s Greek community on their website, located here. Carolina has a long tradition of Greek Life. Carolina students care deeply about upholding Greek excellence. The office is always available for possible hazing concerns. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Community Involvement is dedicated to the safety, health, and academic success of every perspective and active Greek member.
Enjoy the wonderful experience of sharing your student’s college life with him or her by encouraging them to consider Greek membership at Carolina. It will be an extremely rewarding experience for your student and will last a lifetime.
